This petal-open velvet jewelry box is a soft-pillow style display case that opens via a four-flap petal mechanism — press the top fabric button and the velvet skin folds outward, revealing the jewelry on a cream satin bed. Built for proposal-ring retailers, fine-jewelry e-commerce, and bridal-gift OEM where the unboxing moment matters. Choosing the material? See our velvet vs leatherette comparison. Three formats available, sold separately by size: Ring (S), Pendant / Earring (M), Necklace / Bracelet (L). MOQ 500 pcs per size per color.
Unlike rigid hardboard boxes, this format is a stitched fabric pillow over a four-piece die-cut foam frame. The exterior is premium short-pile velvet with visible quilted seams along the petal joints — the seams aren’t decorative, they’re the structural fold lines that let the lid bloom open without cracking.

The lid is constructed from four triangular velvet panels stitched along a cross seam. A single fabric button (a small velvet ball-stub) sits on the top — press down, the foam frame relaxes, and the four panels fold outward at ~45° revealing the cream satin interior. There is no metal hinge, no clasp, no spring. The mechanism relies entirely on the elasticity of the foam frame and the cut of the seam.

Approximately 6.5 × 6 × 5 cm, ~45g. Interior fits one ring (slot insert) or a pair of stud earrings (foam pad swap). Standard format for proposal rings and corporate gifting.
Approximately 9 × 8 × 4.5 cm, ~70g. Interior accommodates a pendant on chain (flat pad) or a paired earring set. The most-ordered size for online jewelry retailers selling necklace + earring bundles.
Approximately 21 × 5.5 × 3 cm, ~90g. Long-format slim profile for chain necklaces, tennis bracelets, or watch-style bangles. The petal opening on this size is hinged along the long edge — opens like a clamshell rather than blooming square.
Stock velvet colors: Forest Green, Peacock Teal, Charcoal Black, Burgundy Wine, Ivory Cream, Crimson Red. Custom Pantone matching is available for orders ≥1500 pcs per color per size — dye-lot matched against your TCX/TPX reference, velvet swatch returned in 7-10 days for sign-off before bulk. All three sizes can share the same dye-lot when ordered together to guarantee color consistency across a buyer’s set.
Velvet does not accept hot-stamping or silk-screen cleanly (the fibers absorb foil unevenly and silk-screen ink cracks on the soft pile). Recommended methods for this format:
Per our KB hot-stamping rules — if foil must be applied to the satin lining: keep line strokes ≥0.4 mm, decorated coverage ≤60% of the visible area, and avoid sharp internal corners.
For square petal boxes the optical center sits ~3 mm above the geometric center (KB §8 grid principle) — but for this format we recommend placing logo decoration on the satin interior rather than the velvet exterior, since the velvet pile causes embroidery to appear smaller than the artwork shows.
Every unit ships through our standard 7-stage QC: material check → cutting → die cutting → hand assembly → logo decoration → 100% piece inspection (not batch sampling) → UV sterilization + dehumidification. The final UV + dehumidify step is especially important for soft-pillow velvet boxes — they trap more humidity than rigid boxes, which causes velvet matting and musty odor during 30-45 day ocean transit if not properly dried.
Each box ships in an individual OPP bag → 30 pcs (Size S) / 24 pcs (Size M) / 20 pcs (Size L) inner carton → master export carton. Inner cartons are honeycomb-stacked because the soft velvet shell shows pressure marks if cartons collapse — never stack flat.
Standard MOQ 500 pcs per size per color. Mix-and-match across sizes within the same color counts toward MOQ. Pre-production samples ship in 7-10 days (stock colors) or 12-15 days (custom Pantone), freight collect via DHL/FedEx. Reorders 15-25 working days from PO.

500 pcs per size per color. Mix-and-match across the three sizes within the same color counts toward MOQ — e.g. 200 ring + 200 pendant + 100 necklace in Forest Green meets the 500 minimum. Custom Pantone color matching requires 1500 pcs per color and we'll dye-lot match across all sizes ordered together.
There is no mechanical clasp. The lid is four triangular velvet panels stitched along a cross seam over a die-cut foam frame. The foam's natural elasticity holds the panels in the closed cushion shape; pressing the top fabric button compresses the foam, the petals fold outward at ~45°. Releasing pressure lets the foam relax back to closed. No hinge, no magnet, no spring to fail — just structural fabric and foam.
The foam frame is rated for 5000+ open/close cycles in our QC test before it loses tactile spring. For retail display the pillow holds shape indefinitely if not constantly handled. For high-frequency use (jewelry counter sampling) we recommend rotating units monthly. The velvet pile itself is brushed against the grain at QC to stand it up for shipment — buyers can refresh the pile at home by gently brushing with a soft toothbrush.
On the velvet exterior: direct embroidery (best for typographic marks) or tone-on-tone seam re-stitching (subtle brand mark on the cross seam). On the satin interior: full-color printing (highest visual impact at the unboxing moment, since the printed logo reveals when petals open). Hot-stamping and silk-screen do NOT work cleanly on velvet — the fibers absorb foil unevenly and silk-screen cracks on the soft pile. We'll recommend a method after reviewing your logo vector file.
Every unit ships through UV sterilization plus dehumidification at the final QC stage. These remove trapped humidity inside the closed box before pack-out — the leading cause of velvet matting and musty smell during ocean transit. Inner cartons are honeycomb-stacked (never flat-stacked) so the soft pillow shape doesn't get crushed under stack weight. We are one of the few packaging suppliers in China that includes UV + dehumidify in standard production.
Yes — we can pre-pack one S + one M + one L (same color) into a single retail-ready outer box for jewelry brands that sell gift bundles or anniversary sets. Set-packing adds ~USD 0.25 per set. The outer box can be a custom-printed kraft sleeve or a co-branded rigid box. MOQ for pre-packed sets is 300 sets (= 900 pieces total).
