Octagonal Chamfered Microfiber Suede Jewelry Box Set — Gold Nameplate Series

This octagonal chamfered microfiber suede jewelry box set is a premium 5-piece coordinated packaging line for fine-jewelry retailers, bridal-set OEM, and corporate-gift brands that need a consistent visual identity across ring, pendant, earring, and necklace formats. Cut-corner octagonal silhouette (8 chamfered edges instead of 4 right-angle corners) with a horizontal gold-tone metal nameplate on the front face. Microfiber suede exterior — soft-touch matte finish that resists fingerprints and photographs warmly on retail shelves. MOQ 500 pcs per size per color. Weighing a metal nameplate against foil or debossing? See our guide to jewelry packaging logo methods. Sold separately by size or as a coordinated 5-piece set.

Octagonal Construction and Microfiber Suede Material

The hallmark of this format is the octagonal chamfered profile — each of the four vertical edges is cut at a 45° chamfer creating an 8-sided silhouette. This geometry is structurally stronger than rounded corners (no fabric pucker to develop) and visually distinct from generic square boxes — instantly recognizable as a coordinated series when displayed together on a retail shelf.

Why microfiber suede over PU leather

Microfiber suede (also called nano-suede) is a synthetic non-woven textile with a brushed nap that mimics natural suede. For jewelry packaging it has three advantages over PU leather:

  • Fingerprint-resistant matte finish — PU leather shows oil marks from retail-counter handling; suede does not
  • Color warmth — the brushed nap scatters light, producing a softer color that photographs better on retail shelves than the harder PU surface
  • No edge peel — suede is a homogenous textile; PU leather is a two-layer film that can delaminate at edges after 12+ months of use

Materials at a glance

  • Shell: 2 mm rigid hardboard, density >1.0 g/cm³ (not cardboard)
  • Exterior: 0.8 mm microfiber suede, brushed nap finish
  • Interior: cream high-grade polyester velvet with size-specific inserts
  • Nameplate: brushed gold-tone zinc alloy, 45 × 12 mm, screw-mounted (not glued)

Five Sizes — Coordinated Visual Series

The set is designed as a coordinated visual series — buyers can mix sizes within the same color to create a unified retail display, or order single sizes for specific SKUs. All five sizes share the identical octagonal silhouette, suede color, and gold nameplate placement; only the interior insert differs.

Size 1 — Single ring (S)

Approximately 6 × 6 × 4.5 cm, ~80g. Interior fits one ring (foam slot insert). Standard format for engagement rings and proposal-ring resellers.

Size 2 — Ring or pendant (M)

Approximately 8 × 7 × 4.5 cm, ~110g. Slot insert can be swapped between a ring slot, pendant pad, or earring pair pad — same outer box, three interior configurations.

Size 3 — Earring set / paired studs (M-wide)

Approximately 9 × 8 × 4.5 cm, ~130g. Interior has two paired foam slots for matched stud earrings or a stud-and-pendant set.

Size 4 — Bracelet or wide necklace (L)

Approximately 11 × 11 × 4.5 cm, ~180g. Interior is open-pad format with a center channel for bracelet display or coiled chain necklace.

Size 5 — Long necklace or bangle (XL)

Approximately 22 × 5 × 3 cm, ~150g. Long slim format with a velvet-wrapped chain channel for straight-laid necklaces (no coiling, no tangling).

Customization Options for Microfiber Suede Boxes

Color and dye-lot matching

Stock colors: Charcoal Black, Blush Pink, Light Gray, Olive Green, Ivory Cream, Burgundy Wine, Navy Blue. Microfiber suede dyes more evenly than velvet (the synthetic substrate is more uniform than woven velvet pile), so dye-lot consistency across reorders is tighter — typically within 1 ΔE step of the master reference. Custom Pantone matching is available for orders ≥1500 pcs per color: dye-lot matched against TCX/TPX reference, swatch returned in 7-10 days for sign-off before bulk.

Nameplate customization

The standard gold nameplate is blank brushed metal. Custom logo options:

  • Laser-engraved logo on the nameplate — sharp, permanent, no plate fee, MOQ 500 sets
  • Filled-color engraving — engraved + filled with enamel paint (gold/silver/black/red); MOQ 1000 sets, USD ~80 plate fee waived above 3000 sets
  • Custom-shape nameplate — circular, oval, shield shapes instead of horizontal rectangle; MOQ 2000 sets, requires new die at USD 200 (waived above 5000 sets)
  • Silver / rose-gold / matte black nameplate — alternative finishes available at no premium for orders ≥1000 sets per finish

Logo decoration on the suede surface

If the gold nameplate is not desired, logo can be applied directly to the suede:

  • Direct embossing — pressure-stamped into the suede face, subtle tone-on-tone effect
  • Hot stamping — gold/silver foil on suede (yes, suede holds foil better than velvet — fiber density is higher); ≥0.4 mm minimum line stroke per KB
  • Custom satin lining print — full-color logo printed inside the lid satin, reveals when opened

Per KB hot-stamping rules: line strokes ≥0.4 mm, foil coverage ≤60% of decorated area, avoid sharp internal corners — these areas push edge-fray risk.

LOGO placement on octagonal lid

For octagonal-format lids the optical center sits ~3 mm above the geometric center (KB §8 grid principle). The nameplate is positioned at this optical center automatically on our dieline preview. If you replace the nameplate with direct decoration, our design team will apply the same offset — you do not need to compensate when submitting artwork.

Quality Control and Shipping

Every unit ships through our standard 7-stage QC: material check → cutting → die cutting → hand assembly → logo decoration → 100% piece inspection (not batch sampling) → UV sterilization + dehumidification. The UV + dehumidify step is especially important for suede surfaces — they absorb more humidity than smooth PU leather, which causes matting and musty odor during 30-45 day ocean transit if not properly dried.

Packing for retail and ocean freight

Each box ships in an individual non-woven dust bag → 24 pcs (S/M) / 16 pcs (L) / 20 pcs (XL) inner carton → master export carton. Inner cartons are honeycomb-stacked to avoid edge crush — the suede nap shows pressure marks if cartons collapse, similar to velvet but to a lesser degree.

MOQ & sampling

Standard MOQ 500 pcs per size per color. Mix-and-match across the 5 sizes within the same color counts toward MOQ — e.g. 100 each of 5 sizes in Olive Green meets the 500 minimum for that color. Pre-production samples ship in 7-10 days (stock colors) or 12-15 days (custom Pantone or custom nameplate), freight collect via DHL/FedEx. Reorders 15-25 working days from PO.

  • 8-sided chamfered profile — visually distinct from generic square boxes, no fabric pucker risk
  • Brushed gold zinc-alloy nameplate, screw-mounted (not glued) — laser-engravable for logo
  • Microfiber suede — fingerprint-resistant matte finish, photographs warmer than PU leather
  • 5 coordinated sizes form a unified retail visual series — mix sizes within same color toward MOQ
  • Tighter dye-lot consistency than velvet (typically within 1 ΔE) for re-order color match
  • 100% piece inspection + UV sterilization + dehumidification — no musty suede after ocean freight

Frequently Asked Questions
  • Yes — mix-and-match across the 5 sizes within the same color counts toward MOQ. E.g. 100 each of S, M, M-wide, L, and XL in Olive Green meets the 500 minimum for that color. This is intentional — the set is designed as a coordinated visual series for retail brands that want consistent presentation across jewelry SKUs. Different colors do not combine — each color requires its own 500-pc minimum because dye-lot runs are per-color.

  • Three practical differences: (1) Fingerprint resistance — PU leather shows oil marks from retail-counter handling within 30 days; microfiber suede does not. (2) Color warmth — suede's brushed nap scatters light producing a softer color that photographs better on retail shelves than the harder PU surface. (3) No edge peel — suede is a homogenous textile; PU leather is a two-layer film that can delaminate at edges after 12+ months. The trade-off: suede is slightly more sensitive to liquid stains (water spots), so suede is best for retail-display use, PU leather is better for buyer take-home boxes that may encounter liquids.

  • The nameplate is screw-mounted (two M1.4 screws from inside the box face), not glued. This means: (1) buyer can swap the standard blank nameplate for a custom-engraved version after delivery without sending the boxes back, (2) damaged nameplates (rare but possible from rough handling) can be replaced individually for ~USD 0.50 per replacement plus shipping, (3) the nameplate sits flush against the suede with no visible adhesive — looks more premium than glued alternatives that show glue halo after 6 months.

  • On the nameplate: (1) Laser engraving — sharp, permanent, no plate fee, MOQ 500 sets. (2) Filled-color engraving — engraved + filled with enamel paint (gold/silver/black/red), MOQ 1000 sets. (3) Custom-shape nameplate — circular/oval/shield instead of horizontal rectangle, MOQ 2000 sets with USD 200 die fee. On the suede directly (if no nameplate): direct embossing (subtle), hot stamping (suede holds foil better than velvet — fiber density is higher), or satin lining print (full-color, reveals when opened). Send the vector logo and we'll recommend the right method.

  • Every unit ships through UV sterilization plus dehumidification at the final QC stage. These remove trapped humidity inside the closed box before pack-out, which is the leading cause of suede matting and musty smell during 30-45 day ocean transit. Inner cartons are also honeycomb-stacked (never flat-stacked) to prevent edge crush — although suede is less prone to pressure marks than velvet, it still shows compression after stack collapse. We are one of the few packaging suppliers in China that includes UV + dehumidify in standard production.

  • Yes — within each outer-box size we offer multiple interior insert configurations: ring slot (single or double), pendant flat pad, earring pair pad, bracelet channel, necklace coil pad, chain straight channel. Standard configurations are no charge; custom-shape inserts (e.g. specific brooch silhouette, bangle bracelet diameter) require a new die-cut tool at ~USD 80 per shape (waived above 3000 pcs). We return a foam mock-up sample in 10 days for fit approval before bulk.
